Testimonials

John was born in January 1947, only child of Michael and Cybil Doe. John was born in the London suburb of Greenwich on the 3rd March 1951, where the family lived in their beautiful home on Pine Common throughout John’s childhood. Life was really good, with the family often going abroad to accompany Michael on his work trips as a Consultant, visiting countries all over Europe and as far away as Brazil and South Africa.

Michael loved school, and was a popular and happy child, at both Portwall School, Greenwich High School, and also at Oxford University, where he was successful in obtaining a first class honours degree in Business Law and Finance. Michael was very sporty also, and played rugby for Oxford at Twickenham in the 1974 Varsity Match, where he scored two tries in a narrow defeat to Cambridge, but was voted Man of the Match, despite being on the losing side. After University, Michael played rugby for Harlequins, before hanging up his boots following an injury, moving into coaching for a short while.

It was while he was a coach, that he met Pablo, who decided they were going to set up P & M Accountancy in London, and it was here that he met the love of his life, Mary. The two were inseparable, and were married less than a year after meeting, blessed with five children, Jimmy, Mary, Peter, Polly and Jessica. John said that being a parent was the best thing ever, but being a parent with Mary was a dream come true. They loved their family time, holidays, day trips and outings on their boat, moored on the South Coast in Kent.

John continued to follow rugby and was often seen at Twickenham and across the world following England.

Mary and John retired to Tenerife, where they lived for 5 years before Mary passed away suddenly. Heartbroken, John moved back to London to be close to the family.
